London for a day

Since I had one week while visiting my former host family (and I am absolutely obsessed with London), I decided on a daytrip to the capital.

So off I went in the early morning: Catching the bus to London (direct connection from Nottingham), trying to have a bit of a rest in the bus.

Arriving in London, the first place to go was set: Tower Bridge! Next to the Tower of London Shop I bought a coffee (probably the Costa with the best view ever) and strolled over to the Thames. For nearly an hour, I sat on a bench, enjoyed my coffee, the view and watching tourists.

The second set action for the day has been on my London bucket list for much too long: An extended visit to the V&A. Obviously, it is impossible to see the whole exhibition on one day. However, I enjoyed every bit that I managed – and will probably come back, as entry is free.

A short stroll around busy and colourful Camden Marked was a perfect end to the day in the city.

Once again, I want to thank my host-family and everyone I got to know during my Au-Pair stay for being so wonderful. The time really changed me and I will not get tired of stressing how much I appreciated all contacts, the freedom for travelling and being part of North Farm. (I might write a larger blog post on my journeys there at some point)
