Jubilation for Ljubljana

The term abroad already started for some of my friends: Fredie is already in Barcelona and Vici has started her time in Ljubljana. In September, Anna Lena and I visited the later.

Starting early on a Saturday morning we catched the train to Munich, where we could shortly take a walk and see the city centre. Next, we took the bus to Slovenia and arrived at the capital in the evening.

During the four days that we stayed in Ljubljana we had no luck with the weather. However, despite the weather the city is stunning! We were impressed by the lovely buildings, the river and the green mountains in the backdrop. Even more beautiful was the view of the castle, that is on a hill next to the city centre.

And yes: Of course we also went up to the castle and enjoyed the view from above.

On the Monday, we made a trip to Postojna and visited the dripstone cave. Best part? Definitely the train ride through the cave (2 kilometres!). Being this far under the earth was a real experience - even more because the caves are millions of years old!

Anna Lena and Vici touristing in the city centre

The three of us had some amazing days in Ljubljana, we enjoyed coffees, cakes and food. But mostly, it was lovely to catch up with Vici.

Favourite place: Cafe Ziferblatt, a lovely cosy café where you pay for the time you stay instead of the beverages.

The lesson is clear: Slovenia is worth a visit!

We are now looking forward to our visit in Barcelona!

PS: Our travel group it still missing a name!
